Sketchbook Pieces

In Teacher Academy, we use the arts to inquire into issues of teaching and learning. To do this, we keep a sketchbook that documents our journey through the program and our internships. The sketchbook is a place to draw, visualize, write about, and imagine the type of teacher I’d like to one day become. We also use the sketchbook to explore and think about my beliefs, my emerging teaching philosophy, and my theories of practice. In this section, you will find three examples of sketchbook pieces I did this year.

This art piece was an assignment for our emotions. I chose to focus on that it is okay to not be okay. This allows for people to remember that it is normal to feel upset and they don't need to hide their feelings.

This assignment was for us to use this page known as the doodle page whenever we needed to fidget with something we were to draw and create an art piece.

My art piece on the photo to the left was the takeaway of bonds with others allows for memories and friendships. We then can carry these with us forever and that is why we should make everyone bond special.
